I am a Mum of 4 children, my 2nd has selective mutism, my 3rd is Autistic, so have been following your daily blogs, and many strike a note with me, thank you for sharing… I was silently observing your situation with Gavin…and the things you described sounded like a seizure that my eldest daughter (who is now 11) had 3 years ago, it looked like she was having an aneurysm her face drooped into a palsy and she couldn't speak and she was TERRIFIED (I knew what a person having an aneurym looks like because my husband had one when my second daughter was a newborn) we rushed her to hospital and she had CT scans and then MRI but no bleeds (thank goodness)…then on day 3 she had an EEG, we went into this little dimmed room, and I saw on the screen these massive bursts of brain activity, and I then knew it was epilepsy…she was diagnosed with Benign Rolandic Epilepsy which is a type of epilepsy that occurs only in childhood and disappears after puberty…she has only had 3 seizures over 3 years so she has been lucky. The doctor said she may have seizures in her sleep and never know it. Anyway all my best wishes to you and your family, and hope you catch a break soon!
