As an Autism and Special Needs parent, I’ve found it very difficult is prioritize things. In a more typical situation, I would be able to decide what’s important and what can be put in hold or brushed aside. Unfortunately, in my life, it’s not that simple.

Everyone in my house has very demanding needs and all of them are of equal importance, especially to the person concerned.

While there are things that can always be put on hold, usually everything that’s considered more everyday life kinda things, the vast majority can’t. It’s very difficult for me because in order to meet one person’s needs, it feels like someone else’s will have to go unmet and that’s not okay.

If one person has a 100 things that require their undivided attention, and all of them are of equal importance, how is prioritizing even possible?

Let me tell you, it’s not easy facing challenges like this because no matter what I do, I’m letting someone down and there’s nothing I can do about it. There’s only one of me and sometimes I can’t even take care of myself.

I’ve asked this question many times in the past but how do you prioritize anything when everything is a priority?

I’m not expecting anyone to answer this because frankly, there is no way to answer it. I pose the question because I wonder how many people out there understand what this is like.. If you can relate, please leave a comment below.

My only feeling is how amazing is what you have accomplished
And you are an example for everyone who could feel underachieving in life.
