You may have noticed some changes to the site over the last couple of days. I’m pretty excited about these changes because some of them hold special meaning to me.
The most obvious is the theme I’m using.
I’ve been using the same theme for most of The Autism Dad’s existence. Contrary to everyone in my house and a large portion of my readers, I like change. Sometimes I just need a change to help me keep moving forward.
I know that change can upset some of you and I know this because I receive strongly worded emails, from very nice people with Autism, telling me that you’re upset about the changes I make from time to time. I’m sorry if these recent changes have caused you any distress and I apologize for not preparing you a head of time.
This was sorta impulsive on my part.
I’m always trying to improve code or tighten things up on this site and most of those are behind the curtain, going mostly unnoticed.
You need to map /blog to the homepage. My bookmark for your site was to the blog so now I end up at a blank page. Aside from that looking good.
I have this same problem. There is no ‘blog’ link in the menu either- it took me a few tries to realize that I had to click on the header to get to the blog. Is that being done to give the appearance of more clicks on the blog for potential advertisers? I totally get it if that’s the case- just curious if that’s why that particular change was made.
All you have to do is click home. It’s because I pulled my original homepage. In WordPress there are two options. You can have a homepage and a blog page or you can have a the homepage BE the blog page. Does that make sense? Basically, when someone visits theautismdad.com,it takes them straight to the page with the most recent posts. Sorry you have to adjust your book marks.
So far it’s all right. As long as I can sign in without having to reinvent the wheel, I’m okay. Also the site seems calmer while still containing the same info. So that’s good too!
Thanks for the feedback Becky.. ☺
