I’m going to make this brief because I’m exhausted and need to get to bed. For a long time now, I’ve been wanting to restore my original blog Lost and Tired because that blog contains thousands and thousands posts that date back to the very beginning of our story.
I haven’t gotten around to bringing this back because frankly, I need to completely rebuild the site, clean up the old database as well as upload ten gigs worth of media, and that’s huge PITA.
Thursday morning, I finally decided to bite the bullet and rebuild the site. It was a project and a frustrating one at that but I got back up. It’s a very basic site and there will likely be some things that are missing, namely YouTube videos because that channel is no longer available. For the most part, the videos are available on my current channel and perhaps over time, I’ll fix the broken links. It’s not a huge priority though.
Unfortunately, I lost the final backup I made right before shutting it down, so there’s a gap between Lost and Tired ending and The Autism Dad beginning. That gap amounts to about one year but it’s not twelve months worth of posts.
What’s basically missing is the announcement of Lizze and I separating and the emotional struggles that followed as a result. It was a dark time in our journey and frankly, I wasn’t writing much during that time anyway. The Autism Dad picks up about eight months into our two year separation.
I wish I had database from that backup and if I manage to find it, I’ll update the site with the missing posts. Truthfully, it was the worst, most difficult year of my entire life and I’d rather not relive it anyway.
That being said, everything else is there. You can read the very first post I ever wrote and be able to follow our journey from the beginning. I put a great deal of blood, sweat and tears into Lost and Tired. It’s an excellent reference for new parents and anyone else wanting to learn.
I haven’t decided how I’m going to maintain this. I’ve thought about merging everything into The Autism Dad and having everything under one roof but I haven’t decided yet. For right now, you can simply visit Lost and Tired and get caught up on our backstory.
