We had a really nice evening. Truth be told, it was actually extremely stressful for me but that doesn’t mean there weren’t some awesome memories made. I’m just going to skip to the end of the day because that’s where the true magic happened.

I took Lizze and the boys out to dinner. We don’t do that very often for a number of reasons but we went to IHOP for dinner because everyone loves it there. ☺

Everyone ordered what they wanted and had a great time. The truly amazing part comes into play with Mr. Emmett. Emmett is historically very difficult to feed. He so many sensory issues and it makes him incredibly sensitive to things like food. Anyway, it’s a struggle on the best of days and a nightmare on the worst.

One of the other struggles Emmett deals with is an inability to make decisions. Some of the biggest meltdowns he’s ever had were related to him having to make a decision.

Rather than take all night to figure out what he wanted, how was the first to order. This kid fucking order a t-bone steak and a stack of pancakes. Not only did he order these things, but he actually ate them as well.

While the above is truly awesome, that’s not what completely blew me away.

Emmett actually used the same fork for each item of food he had. I almost died from astonishment because Emmett always has to have silverware for each food item. Nothing can ever mix and the idea of using the same fork for his steak and pancakes would have been enough to send him into a downward spiral.

I’m super proud of him. He’s an expensive date but I would have paid ten times over to see him do that. ☺
