Lizze and I have been trying to work with Maggie as we have been having some issues,  since all the violence has been spilling over on to our street.

She is fiercely protective and so she has been….on edge lately.  When we leave to go anywhere,  she gets stressed out and chews on things she shouldn’t.

Kenels don’t hold her as she will literally bend the Steele frame and get out.

So Lizze and I have tried something new.  We playfully refer to it as the offering.

Basically, we are trying to provide her with some comfort while we are gone….  So far,  it has worked beautifully.

The offering,  typically consists of egg beater dipped in aittle bit of peanut butter. There is a side of bananas as well.  Then we top it all off with some dog food sprinkled on top.

Laugh if you must….but it works and works well.

I second the Kong toy idea. My golden retriever adored it when smeared with peanut butter on the inside. She didn't care for it when there wasn't peanut butter in it, but with the peanut butter… she was thrilled. I'd bet there aren't many dogs who wouldn't get interested in a Kong toy once it had peanut butter attached to it. 🙂

Good luck

Have you tried Kong toys? they worked great with our destructive lab lol. You put treats inside them and they have to figure out how to get it out. http://www.kongcompany.com/products/dogs/kong-rubhttp://www.kongcompany.com/products/dogs/kong-tre

She has some Kong toys as well. The problem was that they didn\’t capture her attention when she was really stressed out.

Maybe we just need to find her a new one. Thanks alot for the link 🙂
