Gavin and Elliott have orientation today. This isn’t a big deal for Gavin at this point but it’s a bigger deal for Elliott.
Elliott has mixed feelings about going to a new school. I’m really hoping today goes well for him. He will have a teacher that we absolutely love and will be a great fit for Elliott. I think that getting back into school will help to address some of the OCD we have seen recently. He really needs to be around other kids his age.
I’m not happy the way this whole thing went down for Elliott but I know the teachers and staff at his new school and they are all fantastic. It’s not easy for me to trust people with my kids but Summit Academy has proven themselves time and time again. What they have done for Gavin has been simply amazing.
I take comfort in knowing that Elliott will be treated with respect. When they look at Elliott, they see Elliott for who he is and not judge him based on his diagnosis. Elliott will be an asset to this school and it feels good to know that they will appreciate him.
