UPDATE: Apparently the IV drip takes about 4 hours. We were originally told 1 hour but we started about a little while ago and won’t be done till 5pm-ish.
The IV has just been placed. Gavin did pretty well. He was really upset even though he didn’t feel anything. I think the idea was upsetting enough. He didn’t scream or hit anyone, so that is a big positive.
The infusion has started and should last about an hour. He is currently distracted, playing Lego Harry Potter on the PS3.
We Jane to watch for side effects. This can make him nauseous as well as cause a bad headache. He may also run a fever for a day or so. Hopefully he tolerates everything well and start feeling better soon.
Elliott was really nervous this morning about all of this. I think that when he sees the pictures showing Gavin doing just well, he can feel batter about Gavin needing these infusions.

I am so proud of you big guy! You did awesome! Now just sit back, kick your feet up & wait for the healing to start! I love you all! I'm glad it went well & there were no meltdowns!
How did he do??
Pretty good. Thanks
so brave …..I have infusions myself and know that the side effects can be pretty rotten so lets hope he doesn't have too bad a time of it, the side effects do wear off though and the more infusions you have the better it becomes, my first infusion I had to have laying down and stay laying down for hours afterwards a couple of years later and im in and out in a few hours and no side effects at all. All the love to you all x
Thank you very much for sharing that. I appreciate it.
