Tougher and Tougher Everyday

I find my more and more lost with Emmett John and Gavin each day. Gavin is really struggling with simple every day type things. Gavin has “NO” common sense. That’s not a slam on him it’s just a fact. Things that would come automaticly to most don’t come at all to Gavin. So we are having to work overtime to stay ahead of him in almost every area of his life.

Gavin is trying to micro-manage everyone around him. He will only play his way. Elliott Richard is not allowed to use his imagination but Gavin is. All these things are causing tension to build in an already tense situation. My sister came today to take Elliott Richard to the park. Gavin was invited but we had to say no because he is not in a place to be around “typical” kids in a public setting. Gavin doesn’t understand so he gets upset and that sets the tone for the entire day.

I’m pretty sure Gavin is continuing regress because his attempts at conversation make absolutely no sense anymore. When he talks to us he assumes we are privy to what has been going on in his head. So he might have been thinking about legos for example all day long. Then from out of nowhere he asks us something like “where are they made?”. To which we answer “where are what made?”. Typically they are much more cryptic but you get the idea. He gets frustrated with us because we don’t have a clue what he is talking about. Often times he won’t even elaborate further.

In general this seems to be getting worse. Honestly, sometimes I feel like my head is going to explode or maybe just wishing it would.

On the other side of the coin he may simply be heading for another psychotic break. This means that he is losing touch with reality or confusing his imagination and reality. He has a history of this over the past few years. It gets pretty scary when this happens because we have absolutely no idea where he is coming. He tends to hear voices at this time and we have no idea what they are telling him to do.

It’s a 3 day weekend for some reason and it’s going to be a long 3 days, for everyone.
