For the first time since Gavin lost his immune system, he’s been off IVIG for one whole week. His immunologist wanted me to withhold IVIG this past week and start up again today.
This particular infusion is going extremely fast and Gavin’s feels pretty good about that.
When it finishes, we will apply the new ointment to the infusion sites and see if that helps them heal faster.
Aside from that, my hands are tied.
5 hours later
I became distracted and forgot to finish this post but Gavin’s IVIG infusion has been done for awhile now.
The process was actually really fast today and we immediately applied the antibiotic cream to the infusion sites, as soon as the needles were removed.
He fell asleep for awhile afterwards and has been dragging a bit since waking up but is otherwise doing really well. 😊
Both he and I feel much better having the infusion done because even though his doctor ordered the week off, it still made us both nervous.
