Kids with can show affection in amazing unique and atypical ways.
I always make sure or rather try to make sure that I have fresh hardboiled eggs in the fridge for the kids to snack on.
Eggs are very healthy. I’ve explained to the boys how they can help the body grow by providing vitamins and protein.
The boys are very difficult to feed as a result of sensory related food proclivities and eggs are something they will all sometimes eat. Lol
The other night, I discovered this little present on my nightstand. It’s from my sweet little Emmett and it was his way of showing me affection.
I guess theres a moral to this story and it goes like this.
I talk to parents all the time, who share how their kids on the Autism Spectrum don’t show them affection in ways that other, neurotypical kids do.
My message is always the same. While this is true, please don’t discount or overlook all the ways that our kids with Autism, show they love us.
