Awhile back, the boys and I planted a small Mint shoot and let it grow. We were able to harvest our first batch of fresh mint leaves yesterday. Our second plant isn’t too far behind.
If you’re unaware, fresh mint is extremely good for the body
It can aide in digestion and help treat things like reflux. It’s also got one of the highest antioxidants capacities of any food. It also tastes really good. ☺
We trimmed one of the plants back and have frozen the leaves. I add these to smoothies, yogurt and even chocolate milk.
Anyway, it was kind of a cool little project that the boys and I were able to do together.
Eventually, I’d like to add more herbs to our little indoor greenhouse but for right now this is working out pretty well.
