I feel that it’s really important to single Elliott out a little bit and celebrate the progress we’ve made in the homework category.

He’s been taking on his 9 minutes of homework every night and doing a damn fine job.

That doesn’t mean he’s excited about doing it but he does it anyway.  It’s not always a perfect endeavor and sometimes there’s a bit of resistance but he’s been finishing his 9 minutes without any major issues.

I should also point out that the staff at school is really sorta laying it on thick, in a very positive way.

For starters, Elliott finished all his homework last week for probably the first time this year.  As a result of him doing that, he earned both himself and his entire class a trip to the prize box.

I’ve seen just about everyone give him a high five as we leave the school and say something like: awesome job Elliott, I heard you’re doing a great job on your homework..

I don’t expect this to be smooth forever but I’m hoping that this does help to boost his confidence and self-esteem, both of which are very low.

As for me, I couldn’t be any prouder of him if I tried and I male sure he knows it too…  💜☺
