The boys are having a really good evening. Gavin’s playing Destiny on the Playstation and Elliott and Emmett were playing with the ferrets.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have been able to watch these videos of the boys playing with the ferrets for many months now.

Elliott and Emmett respond so well to interaction with the ferrets and I’m documenting their use as a pseudo service animal for the boys.
People are using guinea pigs as service animals for things like Autism and anxiety.
Ferrets have infinitely more personality and actually seek out attention. The boys love getting kisses and even just watching them wrestle around.
It’s been overwhelmingly positive and they even play with Maggie. 🙂
Nothing is perfect and while the playing with the ferrets does reduce anxiety and is a killer thing for redirection, sometimes the anxiety or overstimulation is just too much.
Its been a fantastic experience for everyone and I would encourage anyone looking to find a smaller animal for this type of situation to consider a ferret.
