This is going to be a pretty big week for us. There are a few behind the scenes things happening but what I want to focus on has to do with the boys.
On Tuesday, Emmett will have an extra long therapy session at Akron Children’s Hospital.
It’s going to be extra long because he will finally be getting his evaluation for OT as well. This means that he’ll be getting even more of the help that he needs. ☺
While that’s really good news, what comes next is even better.
On the 23rd, Gavin will be getting his evaluation done for OT as well. He desperately needs this. They aren’t scheduling for PT yet but it’s coming.
This is going to make life even more complicated for me but it’s so worth it to see them getting the help. ☺
Elliott’s next on the list to get evaluated but he needs a new prescription for OT/PT….
If you’re wondering why OT is such a big deal, it’s because sensory issues are a very real problem for many kids in the Autism spectrum. OT is something that helps people with sensory issues, better cope.
Over time, it can help to desensitize them to certain things and improve the overall quality of their lives.
It’s a big deal and a major victory… ☺
