The boys went to bed tonight without a problem. I’m going to be visiting my bed in just a little bit but I’m not quite ready yet.
While I was putting him to bed tonight, Emmett said he doesn’t want to go to school in the morning. I’m truly praying that we aren’t already going down the I don’t want to go to school today because my tummy hurts road already..
It’s so hard to figure out what’s going on with him because it’s not easy for him to share how’s he’s feeling and if I ask him, he gets really upset.
Absolutely nothing comes easy and I’m just trying to get my kids through the day, so we can end up doing it all over again the next.
I love my boys and they are the reason I get up in the morning but they are also exhausting, overwhelming and very difficult to manage at times.
Focusing on the positive will only get you so far in a world that doesn’t give you credit for exquisitely handling your child’s massive meltdown or other behavioral crisis.
The world doesn’t get that after a hard battle, you finally got your child to wear clothes. They only see that you’re 20 minutes late to school.
The positive thing for today is that we made it through. It seems lame to say that but the truth is that sometimes making it through the day is all you get. It’s definitely a positive thing to make it through the day.. 😀
Have you asked Emmett’s teacher? Maybe someone’s picking on him, he doesn’t like his teacher, he doesn’t like lunch, anything happen at school? Have you had a chance to tell his teachers? Maybe they need to keep a close eye on him or make school more fun somehow? How has his behavior been at school?
