What I regret most about yesterday

It’s been said that hindsight is 20/20. No truer words have ever been said. If you really think about it, it’s a brilliant saying, albeit a bit cliché.

That said, it’s true.  Being able to look backwards in time, knowing what you know now, offers a plethora of advantages.

There are plenty of times that I look back on my day and think to myself, what was I thinking? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found myself thinking, if I could go back in time, I’d do so much better.

I wanted to share a few of my regrets from yesterday, now that today is here and I’ve had a chance to look back and realize my mistakes.

1) I should have spent more time with my kids. I get far to caught up in trying to find balance that I sometimes miss opportunities to just enjoy some time with my kids.

2) Patience.  I really was running low on patience yesterday.  I wish I had been more patient with everyone that was driving me crazy.  It was really my shortcomings that were the problem.  Especially when it comes to Lizze.  I just didn’t have the patience to better cope with the impact of her health problems.

3) If I could go back in time, I would make sure to let my past self know that eating the $. 50 frozen burritos for lunch would end up being a really, really, really, really bad idea.  That’s all I’ll say about that.

I think that regrets are important.  We shouldn’t let them control us but they can be a fantastic teaching tool.

Rob, I’m sorry about your distress, but I had to laugh out loud about the burrito.
