I wanted to share that Gavin has had a really good couple of days. In a sense, nothing has really changed but he has been making better decisions.
He has earned his tablet back as well as his books.
These things aren’t interfering with his schoolwork right now and so we’ve allowed him to re-engage in these activities. As long as this trend continues, he will continue enjoying these privileges.
Regardless of how long he’s been making better decisions, the fact is, he’s making better decisions.
I won’t pretend that he’s changed or is somehow better. You can’t fix RAD, but I will be grateful that living with him for the last few days has been a lot less stressful than it could have been.
In my book, this is definitely a positive thing. 🙂

rjones22 BeckyRogersWiren you are absolutely right. I’m a fixer and it’s really hard to not to be able to make everything better. It’s an irrational guilt but one that’s very real.
You are so right. Every good day is a good day and worth celebrating. You know I am rooting for Gavin and since I am a “fixer” myself as I have branded you a “fixer” too, so I know how awful it is to not be able to come to a solution (or dcotors finding solutions) and am thankful there are parents out there that keep trying to do their best. It reallly is all we can do
Yay…for you all and Gavin!
