Surviving this IVIG Infusion was the goal for today. That being the case, I can officially declare mission accomplished. Gavin is home and moving around without any apparent side effects.
I’m not convinced that he was okay while in the car, driving home. He didn’t look good at all but he made it.
We even got to see Dr. Nancy Wasserbauer, his immunologist. She said he’s doing pretty good on the IVIG and his levels are doing okay as well.
We are going bump up his inhaler a bit to see if that help his night time cough. She also said that because we can’t seem to get anyone to look at everything as a whole, that she may pursue his Ataxia Telangiectasia Like Disease diagnosis on her own. There is a specific genetic text that needs to be done but insurance would cover it.
She’s also going to see what else she can dig up, that might help him.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that Gavin did well both physically and behaviorally. I’m really proud of him….

I am proud and relived he did good all around. it sucks about the insurance. I am so glad she is going to pursue that on her own for you. maybe you can take that off your shoulders for a bit and see if she can get it done
