Today has been a really trying day for me personally. I was nonstop all day long driving my kids to different appointments..
Our last appointment for the day was Dr. Patti.
While we were there, we learned something that I’m going to just call disturbing. CPS has been leaving her messages inquiring about Lizze and I.
So far, they’ve been playing phone tag and so Dr. Patti doesn’t know any details.
She brought it up to us because she wanted to make sure something hadn’t happened.
I was in shock because this was the first I’d heard about this …..
Right now, we have two working theories. The first one is that nothings wrong and this is somehow a followup to our previous investigation. Dr. Patti said that the worker identified themselves as a supervisor.
The second and most likely scenario is that we have been reported again, perhaps by the same person and instead of coming to us first this time, CPS is going straight to the doctors and our support team. They already have signed releases on file and having just been exonerated of the previous accusations, maybe they are looking into to things prior to involving us directly.
All I know is that I don’t want to go through this again. It took us a great deal of time to shake off the emotional impact of the last investigation.
At this point, I don’t want to jump the gun but I also don’t want to fill my day with worry, wondering if someone’s going to show up at my house, wanting to violate us once again. I prefer to know what I’m dealing with.
Should I call and find out if somethings happened? I can call the worker we had last time and just ask if we are under investigation again.
I don’t know the protocol for this type of thing.
What I do know is that if we are indeed under investigation again, I want to know about it now. It’s better for us to remove the unknown factor and simply hit this head on.
Please say a prayer for us.

I am so sorry that this is happening again. This is absurd, I would contact them directly and find out what is going on. I hope that this is just a follow up on the first case, but you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and you are doing the best that you can. Try not to let it bother you.
JBJID BrandyLewis jjean3940 Missbetsi shawneerenee31 thefuzzycabbage monkette thank you everyone. I really appreciate your support. Hopefully, this will just be a followup and nothing new.
It is better to be safe than sorry, so you should definitely call and see what is going on. With that being said, it sounds like they may be doing a follow up and tying up lose ends. There might simply be some paperwork they failed to fill out or a correction to the files that needs to be made. I’m not an expert, but if I am not mistaken, a family must be notified if they are under investigation and there is a time period within which this must occur. Furthermore, the family has to be interviewed, so if you were under investigation, I’d think they would have contacted you already.
CALL. you don’t want to sit and play the what if game
everything crossed this is a followup
So sorry to hear, I pray that it is just a a follow up 🙁
Ew, that can’t be good. You know they have to tell you exactly what the specific allegations are, you should write them down and then call your lawyer. Don’t open the door and let them in, once you do that, you’re basically waiving your 4th amendment rights. I hope you’ll be fine.
I believe cps has 72 hours before they have to make contact with the family on a case unless its an emergency like abuse then its 24 on a new report. Sounds more like a follow up to me. Good luck. Prayers for your family. Once those people come it seems like they just keep coming back and never go away.
Ahhh man, I’m so sorry your family is being put through this again. I know after we were investigated I now look at everything differently, more jaded. The worry is always there that someone will misinterpret something my boy can’t explain.
