Some pretty big things happened today in regards to the vicious dog problem our neighborhood has been facing. I came down pretty hard on the dog warden for not doing anything about this.
As it turns out, none of the victims of these dog attacks followed through on complaints and affidavits so that the dog warden could act.
I’m the kind of person that can be your best friend, or if you threaten the safety of my family, your worst enemy. I’m also a squeaky wheel and as you know, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Thursday morning I received a call from the dog warden wanting to discuss what was going on.
This is when I learned, contrary to what I was being told by those around me, not one person had submitted an affidavit. As a result, the dog warden’s hands were essentially tied behind his back.
I met in person with a couple deputies at the dog warden’s office Thursday morning and discussed what had been going on and gave them a copy of the video. They explained that if people would file an affidavit, they would be able to act on this.
Apparently, Lizze and I were squeaky enough because Lizze received a call from the office of the Chief of Police.
Next thing we know, the dog warden is out at the house, with the Police as well as several drive by’s from City Inspectors. I’d say it’s safe to say that the ball is not rolling. Everyone is supposedly going to file their affidavits now and with any luck, our neighborhood will be vicious dog free, very soon.
That’s definitely progress. 🙂
