Emmett is having a very sensory sensitive day. We’re trying to get out the door to go to my parents house and Emmett can’t get his shoes or socks on.
His socks and shoes aren’t tight enough.
He will only wear socks when they are really tight. His shoes have to be equally tight as well or else he won’t wear them.
Any of you or your kids have the same struggle?

Matt’s shirts have to be a little big on him and his hoodies are his safety blanket and have to be a size bigger cause he likes those baggy as well. Socks and shoes he doesn’t care for, but neither do I…I think he gets that one from me. He’s my earthbound child. But we do go through the clothing issue here…my biggest fight is getting said hoodies off of him to wash.

My shoes don’t have to be tight, per se, but the tension has to be equal on both feet. I cannot have one tight and one loose. I prefer no shoes or socks, but even NC gets cold enough to need something other than flip-flops/bare feet. =)
My daughter couldn’t wear socks because of the seams across the toes until we flipped them wrong side out. She wore most of her clothing that way until she hit around age 6-7. Her brain had matured enough to have her gate control settle down a bit. She still doesn’t like seams, but not nearly to that extent.

I frequently untie my shoes and then tighten them and re-tie them. I’m sure people must be puzzled when I do this; I’ve never seen anyone else do it. But they have to be tight or it’s uncomfortable for me.
