Emmett’s on his 3rd dose of prednisone today and all signs point to him feeling better.  Typically, when we employed prednisone in the past, it’s significantly shortened the length or duration of the flare.

Visually, the sores are reduced in size and appear to be going away.

Unfortunately, while prednisone works well to diminish the flares and mouth sores, long term use is very dangerous.  Prednisone and destroy your joints as well as suppress ones immune system.

This is not a weapon that we can bring to these battles very often.

For now, Emmett seems to be in a better place.  He talking better and not complaining constantly of his mouth and throat hurting.

This is a positive way to begin the day.
