Does anyone have a easy way to de-bone chicken? I know I could use boneless chicken breast in my soup but I prefer to boil the chicken and remove the bones.
I do this with my homemade chicken and veggie soup.
Allowing it to boil for a few hours makes the soup taste better. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to make this process any easier.
Right now, I boil chicken quarters until the meat is cooked. Then I remove the chicken quarters intact and pull the meat off, before disposing of the bones and returning the rest to the soup.
Is this the best way? Advice from anyone would be awesome. 🙂
Talk to the butcher at your local store. Many places will do it for you! I bought a rib roast and then asked them to cut the bone out and give it to me and they did.
I always debone the way you do… Maybe someone has a better way. I love the autocorrect, btw. I just got a mental image of a chicken breast feeding while sitting in soup…. 🙂
The way you’re doing it is actually the easy way. After it’s boiled (or even cooked that long in a crock pot), it tenderizes the bonds and allows for the meat to fall right off the bone. If you try to do it beforehand, you’ll be struggling with it since the bonds are stronger. Plus, if you cook it on the bone as you are doing, you will impart more flavor into the soup from the bones and cartilage that you’d be missing otherwise. 🙂
