I’m thankful…………

It’s really important for me to keep things in perspective.  Sometimes I can get caught up in all we have going on and forget that there are families out there in a worse position than we are.

It’s in these moments that I’m forced to realize that while it’s true, we face very daunting challenges, it could always be worse (knock on wood)….

There are so many things that I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful that we have a roof over our heads.

I’m thankful that we are still fighting the good fight.
I’m thankful that Lizze and I are still together, despite the odds.

I’m thankful that I have my boys.

I’m thankful that they are who they are, autism and all.

I’m thankful that we have family that cares about us.

I’m thankful that no matter how bad things get, somehow we always manage to rise to the occasion.

I’m thankful that I have this blog and that all of you find meaning in reading it.

I’m thankful that I’m alive and I have decades of life ahead of me, God willing.

Sometimes it can do a soul good to sorta take inventory of things.  We I hear the word inventory it always reminds me of one of my old jobs when we had to essentially account for specific items in the warehouse.

However, in this case, taking inventory is more about remembering what you already have as apposed to what you might want or feel is lacking in your life.

You all know by now that I’m a realist.  I don’t like sugar coating things and I know that sometimes the glass really is half empty.

Having said that, there really is always something to be thankful for.  I know that sounds a bit cliche, but I really do believe that to be the truth.  It may not always be staring me un the face, but it’s always there.  I just have to be open to a new perspective.

I thought it might benefit someone of you out there is we could all share something that we are thankful for.

It can be anything….

Perhaps,  your words may inspire someone to see their life a little bit differently.  I would love to hear what you are all thankful for.

From everything I have read, you are an amazing person and a wonderful father and husband. Most men would run away in your situation. You and your family deserve all the best. *Hugs*

First and foremost I am thankful for God. Without God I would have nothing. My faith in him has sustained me thru some of my most difficult times. Surely I would have been either literaly lost my mind or even worse dead with out his grace and mercy.
I am thankful to be alive, spared from kidney cancer. I am thanful for all of my family and friends,as well as thier health, and that includes the friends Ive never met face to face but I have come to know and love thru the internet. I am thankful for a marriage of 25 yrs this Jan., a husband who has been more than patient with me when I didnt deserve it. I am thankful for odly enough having a grandson with autism, who has enriched my life in ways no other could. I am thankful for the promise of heaven. I am thankful for my health, knowing others endure much worse. I am thankful for a healthy mind, although some may argue 😉  Im thankful to live in this country and all the freedoms it has, and that includes gratitude for the men and women of the armed forces who serve to protect us. I am thankful for all the prayers of others

What a wonderful post and question, thank you for posting and asking. It does me very good to pause and reflect on how truly blessed I am. I do believe I will print this off and frame it and let it serve as a constant reminder of how blessed I am. On darker days, it will help to refocus and put things back into perspective.

I am thankful for my Children, they are healthy and happy and what Mother could want for more? I am happy that today my Husband and I have been married 17 years. And that we’re going to our favorite Greek restaurant tonight WITH our children, because he too married a Family. I am thankful that our Anniversary didn’t fall on the day of a wrestling tournament, which it somehow seems to do every year, though I know that’s not really possible…. Lol! I am thankful for my friends in the Autism Community who share their lives with the rest of us.
