I have been known to make statements like, I wish we could catch a break. I think many of you can likely relate to that feeling.

Let me offer you a piece of advice.  Be careful what you wish for.

Actually, be more specific when wishing for something.  When I wished for a break, I didn’t mean a broken finger.

I don’t know what I did or how it happened but I’m quite confident that it’s broken.  I haven’t had it checked out because there’s not much to do for a broken finger, beside splint it.

My finger has been this way for at least the last few weeks and I have no memory of hurting it.

However, I can’t squeeze the trigger on Emmett’s Nerf Dart Gun.

Lizze has been pushing me to go get it looked at but in my truly stubborn fashion, I haven’t.  I did however, finally go out and get a splint.  It only hurts when I bend it or bump it or try to use it.
The splint has been helping and I figured I would just give it some time to heal and remain immobilized.

I’ve broken fingers before and I’ve seen countless broke fingers in my career.

I don’t think that it’s a big deal.  I just need to not use it.

Anyway, take it from me. When you wish for something, be as specific as possible.
