Gavin has been having problems already this morning.  He wasn’t listening before school,  with the added bonus of being disrespectful to Lizze….again.

Because he was so uncooperative this morning, we fed him oatmeal for breakfast and called the school and made sure they knew that he had already eaten.

To his credit,  he didn’t throw a fit.

He accepted the consequences without further incident.  I suppose that a positive thing, right?

Lizze's latest post was really so full of suffering, that I really want to ask this question:  Do you and she not believe in a genetic basis for Gavin's problems?  I know Lizze feels guilty that she was not able to protect Gavin from his father's family and blames RAD for a lot of his problems.  But if Gavin's problems are part of his genetic inheritance, then maybe she (and you) could escape some of that guilt.  We all have some genetic landmines and which one you step on is really more about luck than about blame.  Gavin's issues could have been all fore-ordained from before birth, and I'd love to see you give yourselves a break.

That is awesome! Make sure you tell him that that was really great what he did this morning if you didn't already!!
