Gavin has been having a rough morning. Not so much in the way of behavioral issues per say, but rather controlling his body.
Gavin had earned back the ability to help his brothers with video games, something he greatly values.
The problem is that Gavin is literally running all over the place. He seems to have lost his walking feet and as a result of him racing to get to the game controller before Elliott did, he smashed Elliott in the face with his head.
Elliott’s cheek swelled up a bit and he was in pain. However, he’ll live. The problem is that this was completely avoidable. Gavin just can’t seem to slow down.
We decided that for the rest of the day, TV and video games will be unavailable to Gavin. This was done so that he can focus on what’s going in around him, instead of tunnel visioning on the TV or a game.
He accepted the consequences and we have all moved on.
I have a very bad feeling that this is going to be a very long day.

Try some activities with him to get him aware of his body again. Deep pressure things, some time with the weighted blanket, stomping in place, and having him demonstrate the differences in running and walking and having him tell you which he needs to do while inside the house. A physical reminder. Glad to see the behavioral issues are absent for now though.
Good luck, my friend. Everyday is a long week here with impulse control issues.
