Folks,

I wanted to notify you of some changes in the privacy policy.. Currently, you have to be a member to even view the forums. This was carried over from the Facebook support forums and isn’t really necessary anymore.

The reason it was present on the Facebook group was because people are using their real names and not screen names.

The Autism Help Forums provide a variety of ways to hide your identity should you want to do so.

I find myself in a position where I think that the locked down nature of this forum is actually hurting it and I feel compelled to address this issue. However, at the same time, I want to respect everyone’s right to privacy.

So here’s what I going to do. As of Friday, July 13th, the Autism Help Forums will allow people to physically view the forums prior to registering. However, in order to post anything, a user must be registered.

I would encourage everyone to embrace this change as I believe we can reach more people in need this way. However, I understand any reluctance as well.

If you would like to change your screen name or have any of your previous posts removed, let me know before Friday, July 13th. I am willing to assist with this transition any way that I can.

I will remove any posts that you are the author of and change screen names as requested. Please make these requests by  contacting me and providing your current screen name and the requested changes. Also provide links to any post you have authored and would like removed.

Thank you everyone for your time and support. Please remember that myself and the moderators are here to help..

If you have any questions or concerns, please express them by contacting me..

Thank you very much for your time. 🙂
