The last couple of weeks have been a roller-coaster for us

It’s been a couple of days since I’ve written. Life has been a roller-coaster ride for the last couple of weeks but we seem to have established an equilibrium as of late and I’m thrilled by that.

I had to make some rather dramatic changes in their lives but the boys are definitely doing better as a result.

School is officially over for the summer and that’s a huge relief. They’re excited to get back to a relatively normal life. By this time in June, the boys will be fully vaccinated and that will open up quite a few doors.

We have made major progress on the outside of the house, which feels incredibly good. The inside of the house is not quite so far along. I think we’re going to focus on the outside first and then tackle the inside of the house because we can work on the inside during colder weather. I am, however, working on prepping for fresh coats of paint and I need to decide what I’m going to do with the second floor carpet. It needs to go but I don’t know if I want to replace it or go with the hardwood floors underneath it. I’m pretty sure the hardwood is going to need a lot of work and carpet would be so much easier. I’ve got some thinking to do.

The house is in a state of disarray but it’s the kind of disarray that’s a means to an end. If that makes any sense…. Even so, it does stress me out because I like things to be more organized and it’s going to take some time to get there but we’re making progress. The single parenting thing is not easy and I have so much respect for all of you out there doing the same thing. It’s tough to stay on top of things all the time, work, and manage remote learning. Thankfully, I think I can say goodbye to remote learning and that makes me happy.

I’ve decided that I’m going to dedicate this coming week to just getting things organized. That’s really all I need to do and it will make me feel so much better. I get super weird about people coming over when I feel like the house isn’t organized. I don’t know. It’s just stressful but I’m getting over that.

The kids will be fully vaccinated soon and I want to start having people over once again. We were on isolation for so long that the idea of people coming over feels a bit weird but I’m so anxious to get back to doing that.

There has been a lot that’s happened recently. Some of it was unexpected but totally welcomed. Some of it has been in the works for a little while and just now beginning to have an impact. For the most part, these are all really positive things but this isn’t the post that I’m gonna discuss them. That will be for another time.

What I can say is that I’m so incredibly positive about the future. Business has been picking up and that’s definitely a welcome change. There have been some very positive changes that will help me to recover from COVID. I feel really good about that.

I can tell you that I was invited to be an ambassador for vurbl.com. I will be curating playlists of podcasts for parents and I’m really excited to be able to have this opportunity. I’m off to slower start because life is challenging but as we enter the summer, I’m be sharing playlists of podcasts that I feel will benefit the community.

Anyway, I’m exhausted but I wanted to get some writing done and share what I feel is positive news. Life is definitely moving in the right direction.
