As with everything else in my life, today didn’t go as planned. We were going to celebrate day two of Gavin’s birthday and we did but with a some changes.

We decided not to bake a cake today because Lizze is dropping one off on Monday. Instead, Emmett baked his cookies and we watched a movie. Gavin really enjoyed himself and that’s all that matters.

Emmett did a fantastic job of baking what he calls chocolate snap cookies. These are hands down my favorite cookie he makes. Keep in mind this kid is 12 years old and doing this completely on his own.

He baked sugar cookies and then melted chocolate for the top. He’s really in disbelief over the fact that we like them as much as we do. Delicious is the only word I have to describe them.

After our movie night, the boys played together for a little while. I pushed myself to do a 30 minute workout. I’ve been struggling with that lately but I wanted to begin the week on the right foot..

I also wanted to share a bit of humor from this morning.

Gavin fed Ruby and let her outside while I was brushing my teeth this morning. I came back into my room, sat down at my desk and this is what I saw as I looked at my bed. 😂

This is the face of a dog waiting for me to figure out that even though she had just been outside, she came back into the house and took a shit on my bedroom floor anyway. I was a bit salty with her today but it’s not a huge deal. Bigger things to worry about right now. One of those worries is related to Gavin most likely missing his third IVIG Infusion in row.

I’m not expecting his supplies to be delivered until at least Tuesday because of the holiday.

Outside of that, we’re hanging in there.
