Just a quick update on Emmett. I haven’t heard anything from the school as to what our options are. I did talk to his therapist tonight and our goal is to get him back into the classroom but we also recognize that this will likely be a process.

Right now the plan is at home instruction. The details of that will have to be worked out, assuming it ends up being a viable option. The goal is to get him on the road to getting back to school. We’re currently brainstorming ideas but the bottomline is this. We have to help him obtain and utilize the tools necessary to get through this. That’s proving very challenging.

His therapist will have documentation for the school by Friday and that will help the process. We will probably need a new IEP meeting in order to make the needed adjustments. We may also need a 504 to help facilitate this process. When I speak with the school again, we should know more. I’m hoping to find out more information in the morning.

For the moment, we’re just sorta on pause. While he’s home from school, he’s working on class work and I getting him out walking. Exercise is vital to Depression management.

Anyway, I’m so completely exhausted and things just keep getting more and more challenging. I’m trying to keep my head above water but there’s so much that needs to get done and not enough of me to go around. I’m hoping he has a better day today.

Seems like it could be a fluid plan. He gets help he needs while at home, and goes back when he can.
