The boys and I had a really good day. We went to my brother’s house around 4pm for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. We started this tradition where we have a Thanksgiving dinner a week early when everyone is available. We still have one on Thanksgiving as well for anyone who can make it, but this way, we can all be in the same place at the same time.

We had a fantastic time. I got to spend time with my siblings and the kids got to hang out with their cousins.

Everyone ate too much and we’re all exhausted. I imagine there will be some fallout from this over the next day or so but we’ll manage.

Gavin is the one I’m most concerned about. He got really, really worked up and I had to pull him aside a few times. He just gets really excited and doesn’t self-regulate. Overall, he did really well and had a total blast.

I’m anticipating meltdowns in my future but maybe I’ll be surprised..

I’m totally ready for bed. I wanted to get this out because this is probably the most fun we’ve had in a good while. I’m so grateful for my family and for the time we had with them tonight.
