The drive sucks but knowing that we are doing right by him makes it entirely worth it.
Assuming all goes well, we should be home in time to pick the kids up from school. That’s about it for the day. It’s pretty much going to revolve around this late morning trip.
Part of the reason I’m not looking forward to this is the drive but not because I don’t like driving. I actually enjoy driving. The issue is that I’m driving a car that while we’re incredibly lucky to have, has long since passed its expiration date.
It’s going to be in the 20’s tomorrow and there’s no heat. That makes for a cold drive and keeping the windows from fogging up can be challenging. This is just the newest in a growing list of issues that create a sense of urgency to get the car replaced. That urgency ends up face planting into the reality that there is no way I can replace it right now. This is a large part of why I’m not looking forward to the drive.
My goal in the morning is to try and fix the issue with the heat before we leave. At the very least, I’d like to eliminate the things it’s not. It could be something as simple as being low on coolant.
If that’s the case, it’s a super easy fix.
Either way, the drive will be made and Gavin will be present for his appointment with immunology around lunchtime.
While I’m looking at the car, I’m gonna have Gavin pack some snacks because I don’t want to stop for food. He very much wants to do that after every appointment and I simply can’t pull that off right now.
I’m writing this in as positive of a place and I’m capable of being in right now. I’m going have the best attitude I can muster and make the best of whatever is thrown at me. ☺
