I can’t think of any other ways to break this down for him. He either forgets or decides it’s not a big deal.

I’ve told him to tell us absolutely everything and we will decide if it’s important but he still leaves the important stuff out. Frankly, I’m at my wits end because we learned yesterday that he still has diarrhea (see I was so frustrated I could scream for the back story there.

To the best of our knowledge, that was resolved within a few days of that above linked post being written. Turns out it hasn’t gotten better, although he absolutely told us it had.

All this time he’s been eating regular food, when we should have had him on the BRAT diet. All this time he’s been telling us he was better and he wasn’t.

Most of the time we have to take him at his word because we don’t get to see anything with our own eyes. He doesn’t remember to show us and doesn’t tell us when he goes to the bathroom. In fact, he can’t even remember when he goes to the bathroom.

He’s very easily confused and if we question him too much, he’ll simply start telling us what he thinks we want to hear. That only makes things worse because then we don’t know what to believe.

I think the only thing we can do at this point is get him back into the doctor. We’re getting too many conflicting stories to know what to believe.

This is just one of the increasing challenges we facing when it comes to Gavin. He’s isn’t intentionally doing or not doing anything. It’s just the nature of his conditions and there’s no malicious motives.
