When we got home, I cooked a late breakfast and tried to steer the car back onto the road. It was successful-ish but as I said before, doctors appointments can prove to be very stressful for kids with Autism and mine are no exception.
Things could have definitely been worse and I’m always grateful for that.
Most of the day was spent dealing with fallout from this morning. The boys, especially Elliott, were very much overstimulated and one frustrating moment away from a meltdown.
That being said, we managed and that’s really what matters.
I was able to do some writing and give Lizze a nap. I did get my walking in before dinner and that felt good. I also got some yardwork done and began getting ready for Vivint to come out and do some upgrades to our system in response to the shooting from the other night. We’re having some additional equipment installed to help increase security and make the kids feel safer, if that’s even possible.
It won’t bulletproof our house but it does provide peace of mind if anything happens.
I’m not going to judge out day too harshly because we faced a great many challenges and lived to fight another say.
