Here’s what my sleep looked like

I had a rough night trying to sleep. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong, aside from I went to bed with a headache and kept waking up because of it.

Both Elliott and Emmett were up super early and were the cause of any awake time after 5 AM.

In the image below, you can see my sleep as monitored by BioStrap. This health band tracks all kinds of things:

  1. Heart rate
  2. Heart rate variability
  3. SPO2 (Oxygen Saturation)
  4. Respiration
  5. Sleep
  6. Steps
  7. Workouts

Anyway, I thought I would share the results of last night’s sleep. It’s pretty interesting to look at and it helps to put into context, sleep issues one might have.

I really like the Biostrap and it’s one of my main tools in my selfcare arsenal.

Yeah, being away from home is hard. More meals at restaurants and just having your routine disrupted can make a huge difference. I’m curious, how did the boys do with having so many food choices? I know Emmett is the one who has the most issues, both with making decisions and with food in general. Was ‘all you can eat buffet’ good or bad for him/them?

That’s a good question Kim. It’s something I’ve been meaning to talk about. Food was a big problem for both Elliott and Emmett. We had to do grocery shopping at the local Walmart so that Emmett and Elliott would eat. We tried to avoid fast food as much as possible, so having food the boys would back at the condo was the only thing that worked.

Your sleep graph looks pretty normal to me, it is the heart rate that would be a bigger concern. Also. You haven’t posted a weigh-in since before your trip. I’m curious to know how you did with unlimited food and lots of walking. Vacations are always tough for me and the most I hope for is to maintain my weight while I’m gone.

Hey Kim. My heart rate is a bit higher because of my weight but it’s healthy other than that.

As for my weightloss journey, I’ll be completely honest, it’s been thrown for a bit of a loop since the trip. I’m trying to get back into it. I gained five pounds while I was gone but have lost four of those since. I’m struggling a bit but working to move forward..
