I’m working towards making simple but needed changes to my #Autism family’s routine

There are many times in life where Autism and fragile health significantly interfere with what the kids are able to do. I get that more than anyone but at the same time, they need to continue learning to be responsible and pull their weight as members of our family.

This morning I had the boys helping me straighten up a little bit. Gavin and I dug the BowFlex out and set it up by the treadmill in the front room.

I even went through, folded, sorted and put away three baskets of laundry. The boys helped put their own clothes away. ☺

I’m feeling motivated and productive today.

I guess my whole point here is we have both parents in the home now and that means I have backup. The habits I formed were largely the result of being on my own with the boys and doing what I had to do to survive. More often than not that meant taking the path of least resistance.

At this point in time we have to slowly make adjustments to our lives that will help us continued forward progress.

The exact two issues I’m trying here! What a huge difference these improvements would make too.

It’s certainly easier to pick up after one’s self, then to let messes pile up. I have that theory on doing the dishes and the laundry. 😉 Trying to convince everyone else, though, seems a wee bit harder.
