The dentist didn’t go so well but Emmett was super brave

We just arrived home from today’s dental thing with Emmett.  Big thanks to my Mom for watching the other two boys for us.  That was a huge help, especially with how this appointment ended up going.

Let me start by saying how brave Emmett was because he really was brave.

When we first went back, it was too much for him and he lost it.  We’re talking massive, massive meltdown.  He was terrified and there was no consoling him.  All we could do was hold his hands and reassure him that things were going to be okay.

When it came to getting prepped, he had to be held down to be numbed up and once that was done, he handled everything else like a champ.  ☺

The doctor and staff were pretty amazing because they never lost their patience with Emmett and helped us as well.  I think they could see how much Emmett losing it the way he was, was impacting us.

It really sucked seeing, feeling and hearing him go through this but it was short lived and now it’s over done with gone.

At the end of the day, I don’t know if this was harder on Emmett or Lizze and I.

Either way, we can put this behind us now and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Emmett loves the top picture. They let me take a picture Soni could show Emmett how they were using a blue light to harder the filling.

You are such amazing parents and I commend you. You have been an inspiration to me with your confessions. I actually will be a special needs teacher soon. I am in my bachelor’s program and you have really helped me with some issues I was having on how to deal with it or even how to handle it. I think that you inspire everyone just by including us in how you handle things. Sometimes, you just don’t know the impact that you have on other special needs families with this blog. I appreciate your words and your struggles because it gives us all wisdom and some kind of stepping stones to help our children, families, and lives. I thank you for all that you share with us. There are times that you just need to be reminded of how amazing you truly are even when sleep deprived, stressed, or even the meltdowns. You not only show us the positives but the negatives and I pray for you and your family all the time. I hope that other families are praying for you as well. Keep up the AWESOME parenting and blogs for us. Some of us have come to rely on them for wisdom.
