There’s no shame in admitting that I went to bed the moment the boys left for school and just woke up a little after noon. I was up all night with Emmett and Elliott, so I didn’t get any sleep.
I’ve come to except that on these days, nothing is going to get done until I get some rest.
I’m feeling much better after this nap and Gavin’s just been sleeping off his morning meds anyway. Now I’m in a much better place to take on the boys when they get out of school.
It’s so important that Autism parents get sleep, whenever they can. It’s really common to be up for all or part of the night and so we need to ensure that our bodies get the rest we need to function.
