I thought I would just share a few pictures that demonstrate how we do calm, sensory friendly things at the end of the day.  ☺

This is what happens to work for us and by happens to work for us I mean sometimes work for us.. Nothing ever works 100% of the time but even if I can manage 30% success rate with this stuff, that’s still positive.

Last night I wanted to kill all screens in the house early.

I know schools on Monday so I need to get these guys, especially Emmett, in the mindset of heading back to school and getting a good night’s sleep the night before..  Why are you laughing? It’s possible, not likely but possible.. ☺

Emmett and I found use for our Chromebook and turned it into a small table in which to play Uno on.

Look at that serious look on his face. He takes this very seriously.. ☺

I actually have a lot of fun playing Emmett at games like this because it’s really hard to beat him and win.  I love watching his mind work because you can see the gears turning in his brain as he plots out his strategy.

If Uno doesn’t work, my backup plan is the ferrets.

We learned that Zane's eyes aren't actually red. They're completely transparent and the red you see is the blood behind his eyes... Interesting.. Gross but interesting.. ☺

The boys love snuggling the ferrets and the ferrets love being snuggled by the boys.  It works out well for everyone.. They’re soft, furry and warm.  They lick the boy’s faces and enjoy sitting in their shoulders…

Anyway, these are a couple of things that tend to work fairly well for my kids.

What sorta things have you found that helps your kids calm down?
