Emmett’s been having nightmares almost every night since his Mom left. That’s part of the reason he seeks me out in the middle of the night.
Now it seems that Elliott’s having a similar experience because he’s been having nightmares and being to afraid to sleep by himself.
Emmett will rarely open up about his nightmares, other than to confirm he’s had one. Elliott on the other hand, doesn’t remember.
We’re going to have to focus more on this in therapy next week because occasional nightmares are one thing but frequent or nightly is something else all together.

At the risk of being completely wrong and dealing with backlash from other readers, do you think Elliott might be making the nightmares up for attention? I find it strange that he doesn’t remember them. I feel like this might be some of the same manipulative behavior that Dr. Pattie mentioned in regards to homework.
That’s a fair question and very tactfully presented. ☺
No, he’s not faking these. These started after something happened a couple weeks ago. It’s one of those things that I’m not sharing but it was during a visit.
It’s all been resolved but it has a lasting impact on a sensitive kid. It didn’t have anything to do with Lizze and in fact, she handled it well.
You’ll just have to trust me on this Kim….
I’m sorry for whatever happened to him. I hope it gets better for him soon.
Thanks Kim.. He just needs time I think.
