Well shit..... That's not going to work

I don't know why I even bother to plan anything anymore.  Well, I know why I do because the one time I don't, it would have worked out.

I've lost track of how many times I've had to say to myself today, *well shit..... That's not going to work. *

This morning I managed to get a fever free Emmett to willingly go to school.

I was so tired though afterwards that I took a nap.  Not very productive but ones got to do what ones got to do.

Anyway, I'm finishing up a conference call regarding the new podcast that Joel Manzer and I are doing together but should appear on my caller ID? The school....

Emmett was in the office with a fever and he needs to be picked up.

This was about 45 minutes before I was to get him and take him to OT/PT this afternoon.

Well shit... That's not gonna work....

I called Akron Children's Hospital and explained what had happened and asked if they would prefer us stay home from therapy.  They said yes and I apologized for the late notice and headed to the school.

The next problem was whether or not to pull Elliott early as well.

I didn't want to remove him early but I also didn't want to have to drag Emmett back out into the weather 90 minutes later to go pick up Elliott from school.

I ended up choosing the less of two evils and pulled Elliott early.

He was happy to leave but disheveled because it was a change to his routine.  Needless to say he's been *fun *and just so we're clear, by *fun *I mean absolutely *not fun. *

Thankfully though we were able to hit the reset button and he's doing much better. He even did some of his homework..

Now I just need to get them ready for Dr. Pattie's tonight.

Emmett's only symptom right now is a low grade fever of 100.4°F and it could be a fever cycle or just his body reacting the to flumist.

To sum things up, *Well shit..... That's not going to work* has been my goto phrase today.

I didn't get done nearly what I had hoped but I won't give up on a few things I should still be able to squeeze in before bedtime.
