There are few things in life that I hate more than time change. It’s sort of an archaic practice as it really isn’t necessary anymore, at least in my opinion.
We’re 10 days into Fall’s time change and my kids are still struggling to adjust to the change.
Everyone’s still getting up extra early and not going back to bed.
Historically, this has gone on for weeks before they slowly begin to adjust..
As it stands, my brilliant plan of avoiding this issue by simply not saying anything about time change to the kids, has been a miserable failure. 😕
How are your kids dealing with the time change?

Hawaii and Arizona stay on Standard (what we are on now) full time, as the rest of the states should. There are some great articles about the initial introduction of DST (the made up “spring forward, lose an hour”) . In the fall we are just going back to regular time. I do like getting that hour back but can see how kids that are wired to get up at a certain time would have difficulty.
The return to standard time in our house goes smoothly…up earlier and to bed earlier. It’s that Spring change that does us in, a whole hour disappears! It takes me two weeks to wholly adjust. Our child doesn’t seem to notice but we’ve never really said too much about it to her. The power of suggestion is big.
Any disruption to circadian rhythms can wreak havoc with adults and kids alike. It’s like jet lag. Interestingly enough, going west to CA or Hawaii, no problem adjusting. Going BACK to the east I’ve never felt worse. (Odd, since the earth rotates on its axis from west to east. )
