It was a tough morning as evidenced by this being my first post of the day. lol

Emmett was not wanting to go to school again and didn’t even want to try  putting his shoes on. It took a little while but I convinced him to let me try and we finally got them and feeling acceptable.

Fast forward past my morning workout and Gavin’s IVIG infusion.

I’m now waiting to go into thto school, pick up the boys and have a meeting about this Common Core nonsense that freaking my kids out and making my head want to explode.

The goal here is to make every effort to ensure my kids can learn the way that they need to, in order to be as successful as they can be.

Common Core is forcing them to think in ways they are wired to think.

Emmett especially, is very gifted when it comes to math and he finds no logic in way he’s being forced to do math. He can get the correct answer but he does so because he can do math not because of Common Cores convoluted approach.

I know I seem to have picked up this torch lately but this is the first year my kids have had to deal with this approach. Up until now, I only saw examples of this craziness online.

I’m not really in th mood to take this on today but my kids need someone to advocate for them and that is absolutely my job. I won’t let this Common Core approach, snuff out my kids love of learning.

I may need someone to bail me out jail…lol
