I meant to share this last night but it just never happened. I was up all night building this brand new site from scratch.

It must have been about 3am when I finally called it quits and went to let Maggie outside before I dragged myself to bed. In hindsight, I’m actually really lucky that things played out the way they did because this could have been much worse.

As I was opening the front door, I saw this huge skunk walking across my front steps. Thank God Maggie wasn’t paying attention or she would have busted through the front door and chased it.

As it turns out, I think the damn thing is living under our porch because I watched it go down my front steps and then squish itself through this hole that’s appeared as my concrete staircase has begun to crumble.

Now I’ve got to worry every single time I let Maggie out at night. She got sprayed by a baby skunk last year and it was awful. I’m not looking for a repeat performance..

I don’t want to block the entrance up and trap it in there, cause that could be problematic as well. My goal to it peacefully coexist until we tear the steps out and build new ones.

At least I’m aware it’s there and can be careful not to get sprayed.. 🙊

Ammonia around the house might keep him away.  WAit until he takes a walk at night and then dump it around.  The potential problem is that if he sprays elsewhere and retreats, he’ll bring the scent with him and it will get into the house.  I knew a girl who had her kids send home to shower and change because their clothes reeked of it.
