Today was pretty distressing in regards to Gavin. Behaviorally, he had a fantastic day. He honestly did really well.
That could be due in part to the fact that he spent almost the entire day in his room with his imaginary friends.
He wasn’t confined to his room or anything like that. There was trouble in one of his world’s and he had to help Sonic or the Ninja Turtle’s to fix it. I’m not sure which of his imaginary friends were in trouble because he didn’t really specify.
I don’t know what to say anymore about this.
We’ve seen this becoming a trend lately and I don’t think there is anything we can do about it.
When dealing with schizophrenic type disorders, just about anything can set off this type of situation. We’ve always been advised to keep Gavin’s life as stress and excitement free as possible. Even positive excitement like birthdays, Christmas or special events can be triggers that lead to decompensation.
In Gavin’s case, there’s never really been a rhyme or reason to his decompensation.
I’m praying that we can weather this storm and help him get through this.
