Self-injury returns – We had a massive fit tonight

While we were at Dr. Pattie’s tonight, Gavin got frustrated with his homework and said son of a bitch, really load.  It was loud enough that Emmett came over to us and told us what Gavin had said.

This is the second time in the last week that Gavin has said that in front of his brothers.

The moment Gavin realized that he was in trouble, he completely lost it.  He began beating the shit out of himself and screaming.

We haven’t seen this type of behavior from him in awhile.

It was pretty clear that majority of this was drama because he had gotten in trouble.  If this had to happen, at least we were at the therapists office and not at home.

This lasted maybe 25 minutes or so and then he was fine.

On the bright side, his attempts at self-harm didn’t leave any long lasting marks on his body.  Many times in the past, he’s left bruises, welts and open wounds on his body, as a result of the self-harm.

I’m really hoping that this was not a sign of things to come.

While I’m looking at the positive side of things, despite how much he abused his body tonight, he didn’t slip into an Autonomic Crisis. This is a positive that simply cannot be overstated..

I’m still worked up from today and as of 2:30 am, I can’t sleep.

Hang in there, I hope that you get some relief soon. Maybe Dr Patti has some insight and something to help with the self harm.
