Special Birthday - Why it's so important to live life as if there's no tomorrow

There is something extra special about Gavin's birthday this year.  It's not just that he's turning 14 either.  I mean, turning 14 is a big deal but that's not what makes this birthday so special.

The last 12 months have been a roller-coaster ride with Gavin both emotionally and physically.

We've experienced twists and turns that had us terrified and praying to God for a break. <img src="https://lxnxuovarpoeyuzaxuet.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/blog-images/inline/2014/01/wpid-instextus_140117235901.png" alt="" class="inline-block max-w-full h-auto rounded-xl my-4" loading="lazy" />

There were setbacks, heartbreaks, victories and progress. There were also times that we weren't sure that he would see his next birthday.

Why is this birthday so special? Simple!! He's here to celebrate it with us.

With all his serious, life threatening health issues, I've come to the realization that we don't know how many birthdays we have left to celebrate with him.  Every single one of them must be cherished......

It's always important to live life as if there's no tomorrow. When you have a child with special needs and fragile health, that importance is even greater.
