I don't know about your Autism household but I swear to God that we have lost the ability to use our *inside voices*. It leaves me wondering, where have all the inside voices gone?
It's like my kids can't hear themselves and so they feel the need to scream when they talk. <img src="https://lxnxuovarpoeyuzaxuet.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/blog-images/inline/2013/12/wpid-textgram_1387910967.png" alt="" class="inline-block max-w-full h-auto rounded-xl my-4" loading="lazy" />
In all honesty, the screaming really adds to the overall level of stress in the house. I have to constantly remind them to *please* *find and use their inside voices. *
My requests are usually not heeded and I simply do my best to filter out the loud noise.
Do your kids with Autism ever struggle with using their inside voices? I realize that not everyone's child is verbal and so I hope no one is offended by the question....
